In 2006, a Community Eye Clinic was started at Tirupur. Over the years, the volume of patients grew over 60,000 a year. Considering the need for a complete ophthalmic unit Aravind- Tirupur was opened in a new facility in October 2010.
In the year ending March 2022, Aravind – Tirupur handled over 91,364 outpatient visits and performed around 7,988 surgeries.
